Scholarship info

Each year WCAGFC awards up to 9 - $750 scholarships to deserving members of WCAGFC (Previously GEUSC, PMSC or NFS). Please read below for more details.

The Club awards scholarships up to 9 scholarships to deserving players, referees or coaches. The candidates must meet certain criteria to be considered.

Basic Qualifications

  • Be a member of the Club for a minimum of 3 years with the last year being with WCAGFC
  • Be a grade 12 student, or be a student at a post secondary institute and be under 19 as of July 31st of the current season
  • Must have a C+ average.
  • Must show good skills as a player, referee, coach or in administration of the game of soccer.
  • Must demonstrate good citizenship, character and leadership.

Submission Requirements

  • A transcript of the student's marks or a photocopy of the Permanent Record Card verified by the Principal or Post Secondary Administrator's signature will be accepted.
  • A letter from the coach, manager or other Club official indicating the candidate's soccer participation or contribution to refereeing, coaching or administrative involvement.
  • A 1 page cover letter explaining why you believe you are a deserving recipient of this scholarship.

Note:

  • It is the responsibility of the candidate to see that the application is complete and that all required information, documents and letters are enclosed with the application.
  • The Award Committee will not enter into correspondence with any scholarship applicant. The decision of the Award Committee is final.
  • ALL APPLICATIONS MUST BE RECEIVED BY THE PUBLISHED FINAL SUBMISSION DATE OF THE CURRENT YEAR.
